Grade 6 Teacher/Pre-Algebra Teacher
Welcome to 6th grade at Emmaus Lutheran School.
This is my 8th year teaching 6th grade here. I went to Concordia University Irvine where I studied elementary education, Lutheran teaching and music. I love to read, listen to music, and travel! Ive been to England, France, Tahiti, Argentina and all over the US. I have three younger sisters and two younger brothers. One of my brothers is in the Navy and currently stationed in North Carolina. My other brother is going in to high school. I have one sister in college and two are working. I recently got married and my husband works in Los Angeles doing TV and sports production.
In sixth grade we study Ancient Civilizations, space and Earth science, grammar,writing, religion, physical education, music, and we read four novels besides our regular literature book. Its a busy year filled with reading, running and field trips. One of the major events in 6th grade is the week long trip to Catalina Island, where we hike, snorkel, and swim.
I love teaching sixth grade and working here at Emmaus. Each and everyone of our students work hard and try their best. I look forward to meeting and working with all of you.
Bible verse of the year On Eagles Wings Isaiah 40:31
31 but those who hope in the Lord
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.
The mission of sixth grade is to learn and work together. We will achieve our goals of learning about the world we live in, how our faith in God will help us in all our troubles with the help from our classmates, families, schoolmates and God. We do this so that we may be prepared and ready for the challenges of high school and beyond. We will achieve this by having a challenging curriculum, meeting all students’ needs and growing from our mistakes in a safe environment
